As well as coaching and teaching players about soccer, our coaches will educate players involved in our programs about the different countries and cultures that the coaches come from. Coaches will hold presentations on camp and discussions about various cultural aspects of their home country. For example, a coach coming over from the UK will teach the players about non soccer related events such as Burns Night, St George's Day, Henley Regatta, Guy Fawkes Night and the Edinburgh International Festival to name a few. Soccer related topics will include the style of play, various domestic competitions and of course the FA Cup Final (the biggest domestic club competition in the world).
In addition to holding teaching topics at camp, players can take part in
quizzes and learn about the various styles of play and players from
countries all around the world. At camps, World Wide Soccer hangs
international flags around the complex and the players can engage in
discussions about the flags and what they represent. Not only are players being educated about soccer, they are being educated about interesting and fun cultures from around the world.
